Angelecisi, lovely bananas and veggies. My daughter got lots of great bananas too. Don't remember getting ripe bananas before off the tree. She made some KILLER banana pudding and now it is everything banana.

Joe, out of my first three from the feed store I lost 2. It was cocci. The thread told me about Corid and I saved the third Primrose, who I still have and is in good health. She is an outcast, but that's another story.

I had bought 2 BO hens(Rosie & Izzy) & Izzy mysteriously had some sort of virus or something. My wife asked me to take Izzy to the vet, so I did & he said whatever Izzy had, she wouldn't recover from, so he put her down. Then I replaced her with another BO hen(Chloe) & bought a Black Sexed Link hen(Gerdy) as well. I found Chloe dead in the run with no visible signs of being attacked or harmed in anyway. Gerdy just one day was laying in the run & not moving at all, just laying there, which was odd because she was real skiddish.  Gerdy ended up dying about an hour later, just stopped breathing. She also had no visible signs of being attacked or harmed. I just wonder if it was something they all had gotten for the local feed store I bought them from.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Always separate newly purchased birds away from your birds a minimum of 30 days.

My coop ground was just a spot in the backyard. No fertilizer was used on the ground & no chemicals were used anywhere near the coop. I honestly believe it had to be something they picked up from the feed store, (atlest Izzy & Gerdy). As for Chloe, it could possibly be that she just died. I don't know, but I do need to get Rosie some company & I thank you for your advice on isolating the new hens when I get them, I never thought about that.

And do not let people walk in your chicken yard without protective shoe covers. You don't want them bringing in any infected/diseased poop under their shoes. And do not wear your everyday shoes and shoes that you go to the feed store in in your chicken yard. You should have special chicken yard shoes.

I had 4 customers on yesterday ans they could not get out into the area where my chickens are until they put on the boot covers that I provided to them. Anyone who refuses to put them on is asked to leave my property.
