"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I think people come into our lives at certain times for a reason.  I think you are one of his angels.

I am hoping to be able to help him through this. I have never done this before, just haven't known of any serious sickness. But God just spoke to my heart a while back about him. He's so friendly that he does have a lot of friends, but I don't think they are that close to stand by when the going gets rough. He has a couple that will and I know them too bec we went to High School together. If we ever need to we can organize the other FB high school buddies to fill needs. We were a close enough group that some will step up. I am blessed with a nice home, but I don't have a lot of financial resources since retiring on SS, but I have more than him and can help a little here and there.

I don't cook a lot. I'm single and my daughter is grown, so I am so amazed when I read all the posts about so much cooking. Especially when one of you says,"I think I'll go cook some chicken and dumplings for supper" and it's 4:00. Lol. I used to be able to do that. I just just now threw the turky carcass in the gumbo pot. I always end up with more broth and turkey meat than I use in the gumbo, so I thought I would make some turkey soup with the extra neat and broth. Now, for me, that is super ambitious. I am a good cook, just not a frequent cook. Lol

That turkey gumbo sound great! I cook a lot and it's only increasing with two growing boys. I am entering into new territory...12 1/2 and 8 1/2. I think they may eat me out of the house! I luck out with holiday cooking. Lots of my husbands family around and my own parents too. So, we usually don't Host the gatherings. We handle the bonfires, and relaxed gatherings. Those are the mass feedings that I do.

I've had the pleasure of being there and helping to many of my friends and relatives than I care to admit. I learned a lot from those experiences. My best advice is follow your inner voice. If you ever need to talk about anything I'm here you can always PM me .Pam

Love cooking-but not usually on Mondays – too hectic at work! Have my crockpot fired up today w/navy beans, smoked sausage, ham and a ham hock, diced celery, carrots & tomatoes & beef broth seasoned w/Worchestershire & hot sauce. I soaked the entire bag of beans & brought ½ of it all over to my folks so they can have an “easy” supper, too. All we have to do is cook the rice to serve it over.
