"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

www.allrecipes.com Everyone does know about this website, right? It's great. Has EVERYTHING!!

On of my favorite! A big reason is because of the reviews that people leave. If there is a flaw in the recipe I can pick up tips from the reviewers.
Let me know if you get a formula going for dogs with SUPER sensitive skin and doesn't make them smell bad lol. They sleep with me.
My spoiled little guy does too!!! He has had issues from day one. But we switched his food last year to a grain free one and try REALLY hard not to give him treats that are starchy. Instead I try to give veggies, meat or cheese type of treats. And NOTHING sugary. Bless his heart.......he cannot even get one flea bite without it just causing him a lot of aggravation. Time will tell.......with the soap. Some people love using soap with neem for themselves ((shudder)). But I probably would if I had some of the skin issues they have too.

*clears her throat before she speaks*. I have seen some "hatchery birds" that look WAY BETTER than some of these "SHOW BIRDS" that I have seen people post pics of that have paid a lot of money for.

And that is all. Carry on.

Uhm, Yes. Lol

Thanks I'll have to check them out. I'm not activly trying to sell my soap.If it falls in my lap like today I'm happy to sell it. The only claim I make is I use The highest quality food grad organic oils and essential oils. It does make me happy to hear that soap I've made. helped their dry skin etc. Pam P.S. if you want the fragrence oils PM me your info.
OH! I completely forgot about those! Yes I will message you.

The season is getting longer now...they'll be laying anytime I'd bet then will pound them out like playing catch up. I always read they aren't the best layers, aside from color I mean. But these two haven't let up since Christmas, daily blues...ill be on the hunt for more after we get thru a fee batches of CX.
When did they start laying. Mine will be 9 months old on January 20. No eggs from either one.

That's why I'm asking lots of questions!! I have been doing my research and it seems as though true Ameraucana breeders are few and far between. I had high hopes that maybe there was one here in Louisiana.

I bought some "Ameraucana" chicks from ideal poultry website, along with other breeds. All chicks were healthy and grew well. So I like the hatchery. Now I am no expert, so I can't testify to the purity of the breed. My hens have the small pea combs, green legs, tufted ears, and are small bodied birds. They lay consistently and they are green eggs. I read a little on theAmeraucana standards, and my hens may not meet all standards in that I read a pure Ameraucana will have a full beard and muff, to the point where they face is almost covered. Mine have tufted ears, but not to that extent. Their feather pattern is beautiful and they are very hardy birds. One has a pheasant feather pattern with a golden laced neck....beautiful bird!

She is a "bad example of a splash wheatan ameraucana " OR "a bad example color wise of a blue wheatan" (her "blue" is actually white where blue is supposed to be the experts over on the AM thread told me .) Lol I know Her dad was a wheatan ameraucana, her mom is a blue wheatan ameraucana both from a respected breeder - I own her mom too now lol my husband went back to the breeder and bought her mama for me lol because I didn't wanna wait for blue eggs. Funny is her mama wasn't laying either. Now they both are on FF and happy healthy almost daily layers. They lay the prettiest eggs, I love them.

Chickens won't lay if their not happy . Or not enough sun light. Pam

Mine took longer to start laying than other breeds, but they are all nice, consistent layers. My oldest EE hen – she will be 10 in February – came from Meyer Hatchery, one of my original 3 chickens, and she still lays an extra large green egg now & then. I hatched a couple of eggs from her but they did not breed true.

I have 2 black true Ameracaunas, sisters who will be 8 in May, they still lay robins’ egg blue eggs several times a week.

I have one hen who is out of my black Andalusian hen (white egg layer) crossed on my wheaton Ameracauna roo when I still had him & she lays a beautiful pale blue egg.

And finally 2 younger EEs who haven’t started laying yet. They both are from Petrus feed & seed, have the tufted ears, muffs, green legs, etc. haven’t started laying yet but based on previous experience I expect green eggs from them.

I’m going to try & cross the sisters on my Marans roo this spring & hatch some olive-eggers. I had one once & really liked the egg color.
