"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I just start picking eggs to hatch from Show Quality Black Ameraucanas. We should have chicks for sale in 30 days, $5.00 a chick straight run.

Glad to see a next door neighbor show up here....I would like to add BCM to my flock one day. Those dark eggs look great. I also have some Ameraucanas, but with a lighter feather pattern. Beautiful plumage, beautiful egg color, and one of my most consistent layers. When its time to expand here, I am gonna have to look you up

There's nothing like finding out your mud boots have a crack in them when you step in the mud hole and ice cold water rushes in!

What a way to start your day! Thank goodness my 12yr old has boots I can commandeer until I can replace mine. Oh happy day.

No egg. They are mad. Looked this morning at her vent. It was a straight across line side to side. Will check coop again in a bit. No shell or gooey residue. No traces of egg. I can see that I may not get an egg until
They settle down. They are in their personal coop that they have slept in for many months which has their own nesting box that has been in their coop for months. So they are in familiar surroundings.

Don't you love that. There is a Boot Barn store in Lake Charles that has some NICE work boots - for a nice price but worth it.

Sounds like our own Louisiana Elf on the Shelf needs another pair of boots. :lau

You DO have an Elf for everything!! I have always just gotten my water boots from Walmart or Academy. Whoever had the size I needed. However, with more horses, chickens, and A LOT more "mud time", I may need to look at spending a little more for better quality. Fun, fun...

I was the same as you. I got my boots from Walmart. Academy was too expensive. I'm cheap. A couple weekends ago, I was at Boot Barn and I feel in love. As much work as I do in that yard, I think I will try to invest in a better quality boot.

My chicken plucking fingers have been ordered and they should be here Friday or Saturday. I hope my Bob The Builder guy can have this built in a few days. He says that he has everything else I need and I only needed to get the fingers. I'm ready to get to plucking. :D
