"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Yes, I remember going there when they first opened but hadn't been back.

I just called the butcher that I took my first lamb to and asked the question about the lamb sausage. Now he says, I can have whatever I want. If I want all lamb with no other meat mixed in, I can have it. I explained that years ago, I was told that i had to mix the meat with another type of meat. He said he can't remember why I would have to do that.

I also called a second butcher in the area and asked the same question. He said it's my meat and I can have what I want. He said that I can get 100% lamb sausage.

So, I didn't get a reason for having the ground lamb meat mixed with another meat.t So, next time I bring in a lamb, I will get 100% lamb sausage.

That's strange. Usually if they advise mixing with another meat or even another cut of the same type of meat they remember what they suggested.

So excited for my trio of crested cream legbars to get here tomorrow! I am so nervous. I have never had live birds shipped to me before- just eggs. I wish I could have gotten some for Pam but since I will have a trio hopefully I'll be able to hatch chicks for everybody!

Finally no more problems with shipped hatching eggs. It's worth the wait for anyone that gets chicks from you to not have to deal with the shipped eggs.

I just talked to the person who was with me when we went to slaughter house a few years ago to process the lamb. I asked him and he remembered. He said that butcher said that the flavor would have been too strong and it needed to be mixed with pork.

This new rooster that I have has one of the worst crows that I have heard in person. It is very deep and sounds like a cross between an adolescent trying to learn how to crow and a heavy metal scream. The funny thing is I am starting to love it! I have seen many times when a hawk will try to fly into the yard and he belts out his crow, the hawk leaves without even trying to get a chicken. I have a few neighbors with chained outside only dogs that used to bark non-stop all night. Well, he fixed that! Every time he crows the dogs down the street start yelping and then are quiet for hours. Meanwhile, he lays down and sunbathes with my dogs. Who would have thought?

Very glad he is fitting into his new home. I'm sure there are going to be some good stories coming soon!

I love whole foods. We also have a Fresh Market that is equally as nice only a little smaller. I have bought some less common organics there recently, but not a place for the financially faint of heart. I don't go too often and only with a list. Lol

I think I have good news. I went out to get Lizzie to give her the bath and there was hardly any yellow left at all. Vent looked normal and healthy. If anyone wants new vent pics I'll accommodate, lol. In answer to some, it was very hard to get those vent fotos, mainly bec when I would get it just right she would make a sound which would make her vent pucker and it would not then be in focus. Learned something new: vent puckers when they make a sound. Still no eggs though. I keep cleaning out the nest box bec if they get on the roost just so, they poop in the box.
