Been a little while since I have had the time to get on here, BUT, I am hard at work! I have decided to try to ferment my feed. But i cannot find a way to buy much around here that isn't $15 a bag! Anyone who does this (or not) please list what all you buy and feed your chickens. Whether you ferment or not. I would like some more ideas... then I can research what all we have for sale around here. Just HAVE to watch my costs.
I see bags of layer pellets, layer crumble, cracked and whole corn. Ideas people... give em over!!! LOL

I did.  She looked up my order and said she didn't know why the tracking ## would say delivery date was going to be the 21st........but they "probably" would arrive tomorrow and they should be fine.    She said this was because of Presidents day and the PO being closed on Monday and that they mailed them a day later.  Which I hope is true, but that isn't what the info they sent to me said.  I hope they were just pre printing all the shipping invoices which automatically sends out emails.

Lord, I hope they are ok . Scary.

My new work computer is in! they are configuring it now so I'll probably get it this afternoon or tomorrow.

I'm bored. Slow day at work.

Tomorrow will be busy; Thurs - bored again; then Friday- pay day, happy dance day!

But right now.......boooorrrrreeeddddddd...........

I called Tractor Supply and they said the chicks would be in sometimes this week. And the wait begins.

   Dang it I want first shot at the mixed bantam bin. I can eye out some nice breeds. 

Call them to see when will the chicks be in so that you can be the first one in line. There I go encouraging people again.

Ok, thanks Kuntry!
DH father was diagnosed with bone cancer... lost his wife 18 months ago... so, the tradition of 'helping' him with his huge garden each year is now on us alone. Makes his father proud to see us keeping up his 'ways' plus ya'll know I LOVE living green. Then our fishing on top of gardening... we are gonna be some busy ol fools! All worth it all of course,,, all worth it.

Aww. Sorry to hear about the loss. Good luck with the garden. Sounds like fun and a lot of work. Fishing? Oooooooooooo. NICE! Have fun and live life to the fullest!!!!!!! Post pics of the garden and crops and the fish you all catch. Can't wait to see and keep us posted on stories of what's going on.

Some of the purple hull peas from last summer. I usually put up 125 quarts for us, sell 100 or less, and give others in the family some as well. His garden/land grows some of the best peas/tomatoes/red potatoes around! Oh, and the other shot is at the creek.... we fish in all the hidden spots!!!

Well you know you have unique chickens when out here a chicken takes off and a couple of miles later all it takes is a few phone calls to figure out where he came from and drop his little butt off. I'm definitely not the only person with chickens out here. Just the only one with fancy faces. lol.
