I was "taking a 5 minute break". My husband offered to pick up kids from school, so I have an extra couple of minutes before all hell breaks loose. Oldest has two tests and two MAJOR projects due tomorrow. I don't have class tonight (thank goodness) so I can be home to make sure everything gets done.
ANDDDDD....there's stalls to go clean...

It looks like Lucy has recovered from her impacted/sour crop. I may have come a believer about the Monistat 3 treatment. I spoke to my horse vet about it and he said that it made sense. I'm getting ready to let her graze with the flock this afternoon. I'll keep her in the garage tonight, just to watch and do a "full return" tomorrow.

Things have been quiet on the forum today....other than the "cooters"...

WHEW! You are one busy person.

Glad to hear that Lucy has recovered. I read about the Monistat treatment but never tried it. I will keep that in mind if anything likes that happens to any of my birds.

LOL @ cooters

No other ducks show up. I have one girl setting on a nest that should hatch any day. She started laying when we had those REALLY REALLY cold nights, so I hope that she was able to keep them warm.

I have a chocolate muscovy that is setting on some eggs. And I found those 3 hidden nests that had a gazillion duck eggs in it, so I don't even want to think about that. :/

Other than that, quiet at my place. :lau

Impatient Boxer Honks Horn for Tardy Owner

1000

This boxer couldn't wait another doggone minute for her owner.

The Metro reports that Fern the boxer was upset at Graham Haddow for taking too long in an art gallery in Dundee, Scotland.

So the 18-month-old pup did what she thought was best: She laid on the horn for 15 minutes.

"I came out of the gallery and looked down the street about a hundred yards away and saw a crowd gathered around a car and heard a honking sound," Graham said, according to the Daily Star. "Then I did a double-take and realized that it was my car and I wondered if it was anything to do with the dog. She was sitting in there casually honking the horn."

Several onlookers snapped photos and took video of the scene.

"I heard it and thought it was an impatient driver," one video commenter wrote.

The Express reports that Fern's anger didn't subside when she saw Haddow returning.

"Usually when Fern sees me she stands up and gets excited with her tail wagging," Haddow said. "But this time she just gave me a sideways glance and kept on honking the horn."

It's worth mentioning that the car's front window appears to be rolled up, and it's hard to tell from the video if other windows were down. Could it be that poor Fern just wanted some air? All indications are she's doing fine now.
