Wow. I am so glad that I have never had to have the procedure done that they did for my girl this afternoon.
We were told to give her a sedative and a pain pill. So we gave her 1 of each like the RX bottles said one hour before the procedure was scheduled. But when we got there they gave her 2 more of the sedatives. She was a champ through the actual procedure. The doctor apparently told her how mature and calm she was for her age. I was not in there when they did it. But she said they used the balloon tool to move bones in her forehead sinuses and the sinuses in her cheeks. And he cleaned out the......stuff out of there. When she came out she looked surprisingly calm and collected! But within about 90 minutes was on a serious emotional rollercoaster. Laughing, sobbing, laughing and then just sobbing......a LOT! It kind of scared me. I could tell that it was the meds and I had to continually talk to her and get her to focus on what I was saying. Meanwhile she kept bleeding out of her nose this whole time. I did a lot of praying so I could stay calm at least in her eyes. It took her awhile but it finally wore off enough for her to start being a bit more rational and she asked, "Could I PLEASE NEVER take that medicine again!!!" "Whatever it was." I am not sure which medicine it was or maybe the combo. But after she calmed down her nose stopped bleeding too and she gradually got even better. A bit woozy still at bedtime but she finally felt better enough to actually fall asleep.
The good news is that she really believes that she already can breath better. I really hope this gets her off the merry go round of upper respiratory infections and antibiotics.
Thank you for the kind comments. Now I need a nap![]()

She says she doesn't remember all that crazy stuff completely clear. Good!
