Outstanding. There is a lady in Shreveport that sells hers for $4 for a feed sack full if you bring back the sack. What are you going to be charging?
Hi,
I am totally new to this whole chicken thing.... Already obsessed with this site!!! Talk about ADDICTIVE!!! I live in metairie. I have my coop ready to go...I was interested in getting some orpingtons ( possibly bantam orpingtons) for my first flock. Does anyone know the best place locally or near to get some? My kids are super excited to bring chickens into our family!
Thanks

Not cool. They can't even show up to a meeting to address the concerns of the community they are trying to be in? Keep them OUT. No fracking in St Tammy. Residents don't need water issues.

Varies but $5 a sack full is what I usually get and if they give me back the bags $4. The more they get the cheaper it gets. Spent hay to wrap plant bases is $1 bag or free if wanted with a bag of poop purchased. And everyone has wanted a bag of used bunny hay when they get buy a bag too so it works out for meI can use a lot if it but I still end up with piles
we don't make a lot of cash on it but we do make enough to over half the rabbitry feed bill! Until we expand again that is. Hubby is building ANOTHER extension and we are in the hunt for pure does again, it'll be a lil while but the plans are in motion
. Maaan I wish Celie was around! I'm starting pedigrees on them and would love to get her info on 2 awesome bunnies I got from her to put on them

The chickens AND I have purchased stock in blue kote! LOL...My friends laugh at me because my hands have been purple so often. The girls get upset if I have on gloves. Bare hands work best with them.Have you tried putting blue kote on them to keep them from pecking the feathers out? If you haven't seen them since the first treatment, I would think they are probably gone now.
I just found one in my run this morning.Ok peeps. We have a hoop coop. Used to protect meaties at night. We aren't doing meaties again for a few months. We are going to be tearing it down and building a matching wood coop. I went in it today to pull out feeders and toys and bricks and such. I lifted up a tile and found a carpet of these holy moly if that's a maggot its the biggest I've ever seen bug!
Theyre like an inch long and fat.
Totally grossed out (hard to do) I needed a few moments to stop wrenching so u could get a pic. And then....the chicks and chickens tackled me INTO THE DAM PILE! UG. So, now that I'm not screaming obscenities at chickens and flailing around in a pile of maggots*? - what is it? Beetle larva? Fly babies? Ew. The chickens have been gobbling them up and were quite shocked I was so happy to share this bounty of bugs...![]()
