"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I have found that something wrong IN their hen boxes have deterred them from laying. Once, just a small beetle had made a home there, and nothing. No eggs for a week! NO ONE laid an egg! Then I find they found/made a secret spot. As soon as I cleaned out their nesting box and got rid of the bug, all back to normal.
THEN another time, mice had gotten in. Them just wandering around, NOT IN my hen boxes, but in ground of the coop and they were all finding other places to lay. Course mine r out n about so cooped hens have few other options... so check for maybe something bothering them in their spot.
Also some recommend one hen box per 3 hens...
Not enough boxes, change in diet, molting, weird/abrupt weather changes, and bugs/ants/mice/wasps/bees/invaders in the nesting area or even coop is all I got on that.....

Hers are new to the flock.... I'm pretty sure its from the stress of moving. Im having the same problem with my new girls

OHHHHH Newbies, then most definitely... always have to get passed the mood swings, moving freak out moments, and pecking order establishment time. Give it a week or two, let us know if your still having issues!

Felt so bad about losing my Sweet BO Abbey, so I went and bought two more BO chicks! THEN there were some Dominicks that needed a mother too... SO I GOT THREE OF THEM TOO! Been wanting some Doms, so I am extemely happy. HAVE decided that i am going to build their own small coop, find a true Dom Rooster for them and keep the breed true... CAN YOU BELIEVE IT! No blending?! I am turning weird.... But they are just too beautiful! THEN I want to do the same with my Maran and BO's...

NOW, BIGJOHN is gonna teach me about rabbits. Seems I need a trip by Angels place? and grab me a good breed maybe?? (hint hint)
SO, my group, the YAPPING YAYA'S are traveling down to Covington Louisiana on June 13 for a June 14 5K for Wounded Warriors so can you say Jennifer wants to meet some peeps while she can? LOL

I just got 3 black australorp's from wiki chicki they are 3 months. I need little girl shrugging shoulders . So when Ron comes home I'll have the look down. Jennifer coming to Covington that's close to me hope it works out so we can meet. Are you doing the 5 k? Pam

Of course I am!!! I have an 'ol group of gals from childhood, we call ourselves the YAPPING YAYA'S. Have t-shirts and everything! We attend as a group to fundraisers, 5K's, etc that is raising money for things we all believe in supporting or just having fun at! That is why I was making those tutu's past 3 weeks... my living room STILL looks like some Las Vegas dancers had a party in here, glitter everywhere! Just can't do more than 5K, one has a son who comes and is our 'handicapped honey', so we must be mindful of his tolerance to distance.

Pam, it is gonna be as close as I get for a while so we better take advantage of it! Would love to get together! Gotta find a place to stay, one gal actually lives in Jackson, but her place may not be able to place us all? Not sure, she is organizing her 'pallet places' ? But probably not since there are so many. I'm riding with one girl, so she and I may just find somewhere...
Hope to do a 'drop by' on Angel as well!
