"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

:( sorry to hear

We have a lot of owls here. I've seen one take the neighbors cat :(

:hit I just went home for lunch & Jim told me he found piles of feathers this morning -- something got 2 of my guineas. Now all I have left is 2 males. They've been roosting high on the top of the peacock "roof" so it was something that climbed up there. I will be setting my trap tonight...

This is how CX call shotgun. Lol

We put some CX chicks outside to range. The mystery packing peanut attacked me for each chick I picked up lol a rooster in the making! This lil guy survived the original shipment. Then he was placed with the new arrivals because of his tiny size and now he's with the final new shipment we just got...next week or so these peeps will again outgrow him!
Then what do I do? Need more chicks right? Can't have JUST ONE chick brooding! Just can't right? :th

He is cute! I wonder if he is an Easter Egger. All those chicks piled in the bowl.........smh. If they only knew the future they would stay away from bowls. They are too cute at this age.

I planted the mimosa tree this morning. That is the LAST dirt digging, dirt hauling job I am doing until cool weather. I planted some iron plants around it. There are more than it appears bec I trimmed them.

I love mimosa trees. What are iron plants? And the reason for planting them. I know pretty much nothing about gardening. I have 3 fig trees to plant, 5 forsynthia, and a few wisteria.

Sure am ready for the weekend!

On tap:

put up more pickles
put up more snap beans
put up 2 batches of wild plum jelly
Read-read-read (got 3 more books in a new series I just started & love -- Knights of the Black Swan by Victoria Danaan - paranormal romance thing, pure mindless entertainment)!

One of the silly hens ended up spending the night outside last night. It was just POURING down rain -- thunder, lightning - a real gully-washer - and I pulled on my mud boots & ran out to close the coop for the night -- well, this silly thing would not go in the coop -- she was over in the old peacock pen -- so after I almost slipped down in the mud twice I just left her out there - I knew she could get shelter in the peas' shed & figured no predators would be hungry enough to go after her in that weather. She was OK this morning, met me fussing at the gate. Maybe she learned her lesson (but I doubt it).

My God, when do you have time to read. By the way, I put Victoria's books on my wishlist. I can borrow books 4-6 on my prime, but not 1-3. My kind of fun read. I love fantasy. JD Robb., True Blood author. She has a lot of mysteries that are great too. Shelly Laurenston is the best paranormal. Shifters. Some are a little raunchy, but nobody can get worse than Laurel K Hamilton's books. Sooooo good.
I have another baby hatched this morning. Coronation Susses. So I have one of each kind. That and Basque. The latter is supposed to be ultra friendly and he was hollaring at me last night so I would get up and cuddle him for a few min. He did it 4 different times. They are very independent and will look you right in the eye. Not run. And this little fellow does that. Amazing

I saw a new collar on my pet chicken that keeps roosters from crowing. Lol!

My two new babies are standing on the turner looking at me through the window. They hollar every so often and bang on the plastic. Starring me right in the eye. So funny

I'm sitting in my chair 3 ft away with the computer in my lap. I'm not lonely. ha

Iron plants are straight long green leaves. The leaves just come up individually from the ground. They are popular to plant around the trunks of trees in the south. Just decoration.

I have legbars,Happy happy happy!!! Then I got the deal of a lifetime now I have a trio of Bielefelds. I lost one more of those 9 lives only 4 or 5 left. I'll spill the beans on that tomorrow! Pam
