I do take orders. That sounds beautiful!
Let me know if you need any help with learning! I always turn to youtube when I need to learn a new stitch. There are some great teachers out there!
Hi folks! My productions reds are so old no more eggs. Ole girl's are retired. Need them country eggs looking to replenish flock. Anyone in the Lafayette area can help?
I know them well. They came from a hatchery and are Easter eggers. I personally like them better they bigger and more eggs. The two in the middel pic are the give away real ones only come in a few colors. Multicolored is an easter egger. Pam
I have EE roosters and hens that i will breed together, they should retain their egg color genes more easily, It will take quiet awhile to see what is derived as i will have to hatch eggs from first breeding and wait for the hatclings to lay to be sure of the outcome, but some hatcheries only breed EEs to EES, so that is my plan, I may kick the bucket before i know for sure but i will be busy until one or the other happens,, I am open to any suggestions as this plan is still being developed. I also plan to develope an olive egger, I have a white roo that is supposed to be Amaracauna and 4 pullets, I asked if they were EEs when i ordered them and was assured they were Amaracaunas not EEs, i guess time will tell, they are 15 weeks now, so it should not be much longer before i know what color of eggs they will be laying, supposed to be blue. I odered them through a reputable feed store that has been in bussines for many, many years and all the other chicks i ordered through them have been true to their breed. Then i have all those rescue EEs that will also be laying soon. I am running behind putting my breeding pens in as i have been sidetracked with family matters for the last 2 months, so i am in the process of regrouping and turning my attention back to the plan. In the future i want a Cream Legbar to cross with a marans to make the all elussive olive egger. This is my EE roo, he is one of the resue birds, as soon as they get all their adult feathers in, i will post photos of each one separately.
Angelisi knows amaracauna's if you look up the standard of this breed you will see the colors they come in. No mutlti colors on the birds. They lay smaller eggs than easter eggers. I had read EE's don't breed true from genaration to generation So I'm eager to see how yours turn out. Post pic's of your amaracauna's. Then we can tell which you have. The hatcheries tell buyers their true but most or not. I hope your feed and seed is the exception. You are number two on my list for Lagbars. I have not forgotten. Most breeders wait 2 to 3 weeks after laying to start hatching. I got my 2nd egg from one hen that started laying so it will be sooner than you think.I have Black copper marins crossed with legbar rooster. they are so funny looking. I will post some pics tomorrow. I think any blue layer xed with brown layers gets you an olive egger. Don't hold me to that but I think thats how it works. Mine are close to laying age. Pam

Pam, thank you for the suggestions, words of encouragement and all the other mushy things, I appreciate the time you spend helping not only me, but everyone in our group. Yes ,I was aware the blue and the brown will create an olive egg, however if I am correct, the darker the brown, the darker the green/olive color and blue cross with tan gives a lite green tint and a medium dark brown gives a darker/light olive egg, I was researching and studying several breeder blogs describing what begets what, but i have recently been side tracked and experiencing set back after set back due to family illness, at this time I am only able to maintain my flocks needs, nothing to put into moving forward, but my chin is up and I am vigilantly looking ahead to better times.

We'll find out when mine lay what color that cross makes. I'm sorry to hear of your family illness. I'm dealing with that too. You contribute a lot too and teach me new things too. I hadn't given any thought to how dark the brown is effects the olive color but makes sense. I hope whatever the illness is in your family they have a speedy recovery. Pam
