I believe you have a Rhode Island whites? brown egg layer

The four alleged Rhode Island Whites. They don't have rose combs, so I'm not totally sure what they are. They need some serious attention.

These are my pullets. The look like doves and I love them. They aren't true lavender, but they're definitely not a true white. Orpingtons? They're as big as, or slightly bigger than, the RIWs.

My ears were burning earlier Pam. How weird is that. I didn't really leave. More like kept away by circumstances that are unavoidable.

We still have our girls (hens) and our girls (kids) are both being home schooled now and have joined 4-H. They both begged to have a specific breed of chicken (each a different breed if course). Lots more going on around here. Lots of stress and I can't keep up :old.

Good news is we have a small start in what the girls want for their projects. Serama and Red bantam Cochin. It would have to be red she wanted :he Anyway we had 9 Serama hatch in the last few days.

this shows 6 of them. I have 2 broody bantam hens working together on caring for them. Amazing to see.

That's a pretty white chicken, topdog. What kind was it?

It's supposed to be really warm Tuesday and Wednesday, so I'm going to see if I can get them bathed. I got started on a tractor today that I'm hoping to finish tomorrow, so they can quarantine in grass and sunshine. :) I saw an ad for sussex so I'm calling tomorrow to see which kind and possibly get them. The speckled aren't very common around here.

I'm hoping for two eggs tomorrow. Those girls are really packing away the feed.

I have a full grown rabbit running with my chickens, i think it intemidates would be small predators, hawks, snakes and such, i got back into raising chickens in March after 35 years of not having them, what color og egg does your Ameracauna lay, i have several of them that are 14 weeks, i can hardly wait to see what color eggs i will be getting, i have 24 rescue chicks of various breeds, Ameracaunas, EEs, White rocks or white leghorns and some single comb barred rock/dominique looking ones that i am not sure about, will have to wait till they lay to figure out waht they are, i have Black sex links and Dominiques starting to lay, red sex Links, Barred Rocks already laying, We are up to 24 eggs a day now
Just a few of my layers from MArch and April hatch's, Junes are starting to lay, I may think about selling down a bit so i can hatch some EEs in the spring.
This is my DOM, Rose Petal laying her first egg about a month ago. 1st time to ever see a nest box, she knew exactly what it was made for.

Maybe you have told about this in previous posts, but you say "i have 24 rescue chicks of various breeds". What's the story behind them - all rescued from same place, and how did you know about them?

Good morning! I'm still around. Sometimes I get so busy I just don't have time to keep up. :)

We got a second egg from Jenny Jenkins! Smaller and more pink than yesterday's large orangey egg. I hope when I get them in the tractor with proper nests they'll all follow suit. Jenny Jenkins worked on her nest for more than an hour this morning.
