"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Been tweaking on my homemade incubator after adding a ceramic heating element. Now I'm tryn to decide on how many of my barnyard mix to load it with. Hmm. I've saved 3 dozen over the past 4 days. HOPE TO HAVE MY BREEDING PENS BUILT SOON. I pulled out my extra roos from the main pen.

The website looks good topdog. Below are some pictures of my new chicks that should be ready to go outside by Spring ( I am going to have to build a bigger roost). After some chicken math, I went from two, to four, to six, LOL. Mine ate and drank on their own and I use the nipple water system they went right to it. I feed organic non medicated. I haven't had any problems. I think keeping water and food clean is important in keeping them healthy. The rest I do like Terri . Pam I have a Brooder inside my office in my house. I have food and water. I also have a heat lamp with a 110w light bulb. the temp is around 100 right now. My bedding is composed of some shop towels with some rags on top. Some questions: Is my temperature ok at 100 deg? I figure the chicks will move away and find a comfortable temp for them. Will they no to drink and eat on their own? Is there a trick in order to get them to start? What do you use for bedding and when to you use it (how many days)? I have Purina medicated chick starter. Is this a good choice? I read that it is better to start them with a medicated and then switch after about six weeks. Is the humidity supposed to be in a cretin range? Any other helpful tips are appreciated. The chicks are 1-2 days old.
I don't know what happened but my answer is under you pic. Pam

Okay, I have 3 jersey giants, one with a splayed leg that I have rubber banded to help walk and strengthen the leg. And one Marraduna Basque has pipped! Yay!Not bad considering all the problems I've had!
