I got more Rees line Legbars today no heat pack 4 dead one hoping she makes it. The NPIP vet came today just as I came home with chicks. Turns out he finds livestock for movies. They are looking for 2 GSD's like mine so I have to submit pics they might be in a movie. While all this was happening I put a egg in my pocket with my phone. You guessed it the egg broke good thing phone was in the otter defender. So now cleaning egg off everything and washing coat.

one of those days I'm NPIP certified now.

I put an egg into a coat pocket last winter.........a dry clean only coat!

Hahaha!!! It all came out ok though. Crazy things us chicken people do.

I accidentally broke a small cane off my rose bush today when I was trying to move it around. Think I can get it started? I realized (too late) that I probably should have pruned it first. Maybe I'll go back and do that anyway.

Sometimes you can get a cutting to root. You can do a nice fresh cut and plant it (mostly shady spot) then cover it with something clear. Think Cloche. That helps hold in moisture and heat. If its going to root then it should be well on its way by mid spring. It can be uncovered and if it has rooted it will start to put out new growth.

Man, that's stressful! How do they know what the temp is? I'm still waiting on one SS egg today (she's jumping in and out of the box all day), and then I'm adding them in (two SS and one more FBMC). I've got an automatic turner, but thought about moving them around in the bator.

I move mine around wit the turner on but my bator is different . Pam

It was a little funny that the NPIP vet had none of my breeds on his sheet. So we listed my egg layers. Pam

congrats pam...im so happy for you...i should be taking a course to do the certifying myself here..its like 300 for the whole test gun/bottle..comes with a 1000 tests....im interested to see what gets done to the birds...

All he did was take a drop of blood from under the wing but it on a card. Only tested 10 of my birds said if one has it they all do. He only tested for something with a p I already forgot the name of it. And tested one for avian flu. All were clear. The testing is easy like I Said he didn't require every bird. So the paperwork is probally the hardest part which didn't look like much. He had a gov. Truck. I think it's a easy gov. Job. Pam

Cut the broken end off at a slant. Put it in a small container of moistened potting soil. Put that inside of a plastic bag (like you get fruit in at the store) tie the top closed with a twist tie. Leave it alone for a couple weeks until you see leaves sprouting. I've started several rose cuttings this way.
