"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I'm SO GLAD that we found someone with horses that is letting us take their horse poo!!! We have so far gotten 7 loads in the back of his dad's truck. We have so far seem good results. We usually go to the organics place and buy the soil. Which is about $80-$90 per load. We are working for it every time we go get some, but we have saved lot of money!!! And have been able to fill 3 whole new beds plus amending lots of areas so far. What a blessing! I'm really grateful.

What all are you mixing in with the manure to start some new beds?

There's absolutely no way I could quarantine like that. Plus I'd have to shower and change all clothes and shoes before I went to my coop.

I called all the offices I could and tried Nebraska office also. I guess all are closed on Saturdays.

It's possible they may not be let into the state so I'm thinking to just cancel for now. I really don't know what else to do today since I can't get any answers.
Louisiana will not allow shipments of birds from any state that has a confirmed case of Avian Flu

2 of the beds we did straight compost. Done. And the other one did already have soil, but not enough. And we topped off 6+ beds with it. And did 3 very large totes with only compost way back in early spring with our first load. The potatoes are growing really well. Since the loads we have gotten so far are very composted it's been safe to use like that up until now. But we have gotten unto the pile so far that we may have to be careful with placement from now on. Sure don't want to burn anything. We have beans, marigolds, dill, squash, sunflowers and more that have been growing in the earlier loads. If nothing else if you find someone who has some they will give away it can go in your compost pile of it is too fresh.

Oh wow! Thanks Topdog, Wish I could have found that info on a website yesterday.

Pam I told him to just keep the deposit since I couldn't find any state shipping bans. Oh well, I can't ask for it back now.

This is one of my Easter babies. I was really thinking that I had a pullet, so are those actually baby tail sickles? I've never seen feathers like that on such a young baby.
