New here, living in Lafayette near campus. Just picked up 4 - 5 month old RIR crossed with either buff orph or maran. Thinking about picking up a few more. This being my first go around should I wait and get used to the 4 I have or would be adding a few more not be a big deal? Thanx in advance!

Welcome! Glad you joined us!

Adding to the flock brings up issues like biosecurity (what illnesses might these birds have?) and pecking order (how much they'll squabble). Biosecurity is the biggest issue; I wouldn't bring more in unless you have a good place to quarantine them well-away from your existing flock.

Maybe someone else will chime in, too. :)

The younger they are the easier to add to your flock. :welcome Show some pics we may be able to tell you what mix you have.
