I have a pretty good homemade candler, i use a large high powered flashlight, wish it was smaller but anyway, i taped a roll of fabric to the top, to make the egg seal against the light and i love to see whos developing :)

You and Cody have some of the nicest coops ive seen, i love the breeder layouts! Mine look sorta shabby in comparison, good thing the chickens dont care!
Mrs. Pam was great to work with in my experience, i wish you good luck with your colorful egg basket hunt :D i have two of her Black Isbars chicks and theyre Beautiful creatures!

That's basically what I have. I bought the highest in lumens LED flashlight at Wallyworld I could find and put tape around the end to seal the light in.

Pam,
I took a close look at the light sussex this afternoon when I was putting up the hens, and she was pox/scabs on her waddle and comb. Do you have any recommendations for treatment?

I PMed you Bob. I have a home remedy I use for foul pox which sounds like what is going on. I don't have any mixed up right now but I could mix you some tomorrow. For now give eletorlights and vitamins in water, If you have oregno essential oil you can put a drop in there water too. The most important thing is to keep an eye on her so if it turns wet you can act fast.Look for runny nose, wet looking scabs, trouble drinking with scabs on beak in and out side and running or bubbling eyes.
