"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I keep looking for an egg from her, but I think as long as she's in the crate that she won't lay. We've got a group of 90 this weekend, so I'm hoping to get them out into their tractor next week.

She probally wont lay till you have her with a nest box. Two eggs today were from the younger poulets. She may need a little time to ajust to the move too.Pam

I gave her a little basket today, but I feel the same about the box.

How's your coop coming? Pam

No update. The volunteers are in S. Africa until almost Mardi Gras. We've been scavenging pallets. Matt said new paint was too expensive (he wanted to use leftovers) so I've sold eggs, selling pullets tomorrow, and took orders for quilted table runners (made from scraps) to get enough money for the tinted stain I want. After tomorrow I should have enough to get a couple of gallons, enough to get started. We're doing everything mismatched, so if the tint is off it won't matter. I'm going to stain the boards before they go up.

If I can get the front walls and the south side done, then it will look cohesive (at least from the road) and I can start looking for planters and bulbs. Someone suggested I trade eggs for bulbs or plant starts. I think it's the wrong time of year, but I'll still try. :D

AND we're clearing out some overgrown azaleas and I've considered digging a few up to sell.

Next week is going to be busy busy busy!

The girl w the BO that i wanted to set backed out because she cant keep her eggs clean in the weather weve been having :(

Turk, I was just catching up on some old post and saw this. Sorry about the BO eggs, I'm in the same situation. With all the rain and mud half or more of my eggs are dirty. I've got plans to redo the runs but it'll be a couple mths before I can do it. Hoes the quail thing?

^ tell me about the quilted table runners.

They're 36"x12" or 36"x24" and the wall hangings are 12"x12". I'm using patterns from the book "farm girl vintage."

Here is one I did at Christmas!
