"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Most shipping is done right away chicks can go three days with no food and water they are still living off the yolk they absorbed during hatch. Their are a few exceptions some breeds are extra delicate as chicks these I grow out one week then ship. Pam

Thanks!! Just curious. I know some ship right away and some wait a little longer so just curious what's the difference/benefits of one over the other.

:love those neiderrheiners. I'm going to have to come back for them some day. ;)

I just love them. Their temperaments are great along with their beauty. I need to cut down on some breeds so I can do everyone Justus . They will not be leaving. Thanks tho it always feels good when others appreciate what your doing. Pam

Thank you so much for the kind words. I sure didn't know anything going into the wyandottes. But I think the silver laced is so eye catching and the birds are my favorite. It really motivated me to work with them to the best of my ability.

Speaking of, I think I need to have a talk with my breeders for this year. I started supplementing light last week and they've still yet to start laying.

The difference is a few breeds have really delicate chicks and when shipped right away they aren't strong enough to arrive alive. The post office isn't always gentil with chicks. Green fire shipped chicks to me on three occasions they died every time . After that she asked if they could grow them out for a week then ship. I said sure and they were healthy and vigorish that time. Pam

I have one or two breeds that are still not laying up to par they will get better when the sun is out longer. Plus the older your birds get the longer it might take for them to start. Pam

One of my Lavender chicks has one eye that looks black with a white haze. Do yall think it is blind in that eye?
400

Could be did it have any issues with it? Wet pox on the eye can do that. Pam
