what a terrible situation! If she doesnt have a permit then you Could call the cops :/ not the nicest solution, but if she gets that fine a time or three shes gna decide she cant afford to keep them anymore.

Sorry about the chickens!! That is what makes me so nervous about moving ours in the coop although we plan on putting mesh around the whole outside run. Bottom included.

This was outside the coop. It's a shame mine will be cooped up again. Pam

I took your advice on telling my neighbor that she needed to reimburse me the cost of the chickens I lost Sunday. She was supposed to come pay me today...yea...Maybe you need to do the same with your neighbor. Not that they will pay, but at least she will be made aware.

I am behind on my house work, my office work, I haven't cooked a full meal all week (until tonight) and couldn't tell you what day it is, but my one survivor from Sunday is doing well! I've spent more time with him this week than with my husband and my kid!!! He is eating and drinking now, his legs are still too weak to stand so I basically hold him against me to stabilize him while he eats. Then he wants to take a nap on my lap before getting back in his box. This one is really going to be SPOILED!!!

I will talk to her and take pics. If I saw It happed I would ask her to pony up. Otherwise she is a good neighbor and would reimburse me if I had proof. Pam

I actually graduated high school with Jonathan (Dr. Roberts). I've been talking to him a good bit lately about my NPIP testing and a few issues with my birds. He's coming next week to do the test for my NPIP cert. He's good people.

I'm so mad I'm guessing the raccoons my neighbor feeds and let's live in her attic then weeks them off. Have decided my chicken looked good. One of my Neiddhiner hens ugh! She will live but it makes me mad I just got all coops settled etc. I may kill them and put them on her steps. RACOONS aren't pets! Pam

New to BYC. Just wondering if anyone knew about selling quail eggs in Louisiana? Do i need a game bird license to sell eating eggs and hatching eggs? Or just for eating eggs? They are Coturnix Quail.

To set up testing for the NPIP I just sent an email to [email protected] requesting The Test And information. They forwarded it to someone else and Dr Scott Dejean, DVM, is who called me to set up date for testing. He works here in lafayette

I candled my breese eggs, they go into lockdown tomorrow in the hatcher. All are still alive so hoping they all hatch. Also two of my ccl eggs that are 8 days have good veining. Yea! I am going to separate the ccl roo and hen soon to see if that helps with the fertility issues. He isn't very "active" to begin with and now that he has taken to the other hens too I guess he isn't making the rounds as much with my ccl hen. My buff laced polish eggs are all fertile but they are already penned separate from the others. And my goose egg is developing very well
My orpingtons looked like that at one stage. It was like they grew faster than they feathered out. Also had some cornish x that did that too.

Now, with all the talk of being NPIP I want to do the testing also. Who do I have to get in touch with for this to happen?

You'll need to contact the local ag department in your area. I have the info if you're in southeast Louisiana. I just got mine renewed and rules have changed for AI and may change again. Just to keep in mind, if you do not follow the rules for NPIP and are caught it is a $6000 fine. Ouch!
