This is my isbar roo that came from Pam. He is sooooo beautiful.

He will look mush nicer as he feathers out all the way. I think the one I hatched is a poulet but not positive yet. I have more coming so we will get a poulet for you. I'm so glad your happy with him. Pam

Does anybody have 7 eggs for sale next Thursday I'm getting my 4 year old his own incubator n it holds 7 eggs but won't be here until Wednesday

Good luck with your hatch I'm sure you will do well the Svart Honas hatch easy they are hardy. My quotes wouldn't work earlier so I'll answer everyone here. Lakones those are so cute can't wait to see them grow. codyshells I have LF but four of those are on the small end of large. Most people think they are bantams Svart Honas , Orust , Freisian gulls, Isbars the hens are on the small side the roo's are average size, crested cream legbars are the same as the Isbars . They lay large eggs by the 2nd year. I also have a French breed that look like polish they are black .If interested I'll give you pics. Mire I got sniped eggs from the benefit auction hope my hatch goes as feed as yours. I snuck in light Sussex eggs got them today they are settling. Tomorrow I'll candle them and set a hatch. I love the one hen I have. Everyone was active today hope you will be here tomorrow when I'm home. Pam

What kind of incubator do you have? Do you like it? Pros and cons? I am ready to trash my little giant styrofoam hatcher.

I'm incubating in a little giant styro and hatching in the cooler bator we built. I like them both. The LG is persnickety but I don't find it as difficult as some do.

I wasn't having any problems with it at first but have had major temp fluctuations the past few days. Husband has been monitoring it while I am at work but he left for awhile this afternoon before i got home and he said it hit a high of 109 today. My goose died before it could hatch, a polish died before hatching, And last two biels didn't hatch. They died also. But I am going to try adjusting placement of temp probe by taping it to keep in place when chicks are bumbling around.

I have a Brinsea I love it. They are pricy turk found one on craigs list cheap. Pam

Do you have it in a temp-stable room? Mine is set perfectly, but if it gets warm in the house then the temp spikes, or if it's cool the temp drops. This time of year when you're running heat in the morning and air in the afternoon it's hard to keep the bator stable. Is it the 9300? I've heard bad things about that one.

I hatched all last spring and summer in this one and twice this year. It's done fine, except for the ups and downs. I keep mine in my sewing room, and I drape loose yardage around it as needed on cool nights.

Sorry that yours is giving you fits. Have you tried a cooler bator? It took about a day to build and after scavenging stuff from the barn it only cost about $30 to build. I've only hatch in it once, but with the digital thermostat the temps are dead on. And it's super easy to sanitize between hatched. PLUS when the hatch is done, just add food/water, lower the temp, crack the lid, and it's a brooder.
