Yes, they are both pretty eggs and I love the layers of them but some blue eggs look so...vibrant. The ameraucana came from a private breeder but she was sold to me as a black orpington. So, more than likely she is an EE. But still pretty egg and she is a very pretty girl too.

When you wash the olive egg the color may be a little different.Pam

Photos are very grainy since it was so dark and cloudy when I took them, but I wanted some progress photos of the frizzles. They have only grown in a third of their feathers, with their backs mostly pin feathers. I'm pretty positive they are two little cockerels. I am very strongly debating replacing the japanese with cochins since I already have a birchen cochin hen in with them. I enjoy the japanese a lot, but think frizzle cochins would be in better demand. Plus they are so gentle and calm. The japanese are friendly but don't enjoy being held.

Hello to all! I am in the market for some speciality breeds such as light Sussex, barnevelder, copper Maran, blue laced red Wyandotte, and a cream Americana. I have a small back yard flock and would like to add some variety. I don't mind buying chicks. I live in south Louisiana...way south. I am willing to drive a couple of hours to meet. Welcome to the forum Samantha! Like I said earlier, I have Black Copper Marans 20 minutes south of Baton Rouge. Chicks are $5 each and I can have some available by the end of April. Alternatively, I have hatching eggs for $40 a dozen that are available immediately. However I do not recommend them for anyone new to hatching.
