"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Im running hand traps. Havent had the best luck with the open style box traps. Plus i have a fox that i like to keep around. She’s never messed with my chickens but has popped a neighbor couple times before. If i run a box i could potentially catch her.
It wouldn’t be too hard to release her, but id rather not get that close to her.
At least with the hand traps, coon has to stick hand in to pull bait out. Fox cant get paw in or snout far enough

Done it both ways. Its easier with the tool or a big long flathead screwdriver tho. Especially with gloves on when you are opening it back up to take the coon out.

And i dont relocate, i shoot them in the head . Give the meat away. Got plenty guys at work eat them. I dont eat teh big boars, but i will eat a young one if the rite person cooks it

Hello fellow chicken lovers! New chicken mama here from the New Orleans area. My aunt gave me 7 baby chicks and we have been pretty busy here getting their home built! I got them at just a few days old and ended up with 2 roosters. The chicks are just over 2 months old now. They are a mix breed of americauna and easter egger. Unfortunately our city ordinance allows only 1 rooster 😔. I love them both and they are very sweet boys but I have to re-home little Pete, which I have found to be quite difficult because 1, I fell in love and want to keep him and 2, finding a safe and happy home for him as a pet instead of fighting or food. If anyone is interested in a sweet rooster pet, please send me a message. Thanks!

I could take him but I am working straight nights through New Year's. If you still have him when I get some time off, maybe we can get together but I live in Zachary. So try to rehome him locally if you need him gone quick. Have you tried Craig's List or Facebook?

Welcome to BYC. We are in Orleans Parish and they are even more restrictive. The SPCA convinced the City Consul that roosters were exotic animals and we can't have ANY.
If I may ask, where (generally) are you.

Hey, thanks for volunteering! I'm not in a real big hurry yet. Was planning on trying to hold on to him til he's fully grown unless he's 100% going to be safe from the big boys.
Yea, you're about an hour and a half from us. I'd surely be willing to meet up with you. I was sifting through some of your posts/threads and see you've sold a few roosters. Are you planning on keeping him or re-homing? Sorry, I have to ask. We want to be sure he's going to a permanent safe home!
My boyfriend's mom is looking around on facebook. I don't have one. I'm a bit skiddish about craigslist so haven't checked. We've come across some crazy people when hiring for a job lol.

Hey, thanks! I'm in Terrytown. I saw nola can't have any. It's ridiculous they consider a rooster exotic but not a hen. Makes no sense.
