Thanks, Yeah as soon as I can get my sister to help out with the pics. and getting them posted I'll show some of my purty purties.

I'll have to get her to show me on here. To me this just a glorified typewriter, don't know jack about computers but trying to learn.

Anyhow till then I'll stick to what I know, raising chickens. Ha!

Well, the chickens made it through the rain. At least they didn't have to start riding the ducks backs yet.
I don't think we need anymore for a while, my chicken house is flooded and its on the side of a hill. Yes we have hills up here in Vernon Parish, so i can just imagine what its like for you low landers.

My bud lives in Simmesport, and his chicken pen is on the backside of the Atchafalaya levee. I'll have to call him tomorrow and remind him that the Red river is flooding and he better move his chickens or at least turn them out of the run so they can get on higher ground. His pen floods every spring from the northern thaw and I bet he hasn't even thought of all this fall's rain that's gonna be coming his way now.

Anyhow, hope alls well and I'll holler atchawl later.

Hey Louisiana Folks!

We're not in LA anymore, but we just moved from Cecilia about a year ago. My parents raise chickens too and lurk here often. They're still in Cecilia. Just wanted to say hi!

Bonjour mais amie,
Cut Off here. I am editing now. Kids didn't let me type much when I first saw this forum topic. I will be interested in getting some purple guineas next spring. I will order from a hatchery, if I can't get any locally. Also will be separating my araucanas into color varieties at that time to improve my flock and get some nice little chicks....they are still very young now and aren't laying yet. I only have about 3 color varieties I can breed with. The others are my sole white, buff and etc.....with no mate. Anyone in the South East with a Pigmy billygoat? I have a female crossbreed and I want to stay small.
