Last year, the snow was wonderful at first. We got 6 inches!!! My daughter's 14th birthday party was planned for the next day. We were going to have her and her friends make homemade pizzas for the party. Well, on Friday the electricity went out with the snow and was out for 36 hours!!! On Saturday, we had her party in a freezing house with only a fireplace and a small space heater (run off of a generator). We could not make pizzas (no oven), so we cooked hot dogs instead on our gas stove.
We also had a problem with the generator, and it fried a computer, our microwave, our phone system, and some fluorescent light fixtures.
Thankfully, everything was fixed either under warranty or very inexpensively, except the phone system. And I never have liked the new system as well as the old one.
Guess what? DD's 15th birthday party is scheduled for this Saturday, and we are planning to make pizzas again.
