"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Who feeds their flock boiled crawfish/shrimp shells? do you give them the heads? Have you ever had a problem with it?

I remember a distant relative that took our crawfish boil leavings home one year for his turkeys,.. said it was great for their egg shells,. but I don"t know how he fed it to them,.

I have never fed them boiled crawfish or shrimp shells. I'm not sure how they would crack open to eat the crawfish heads. That's a lot of pecking with the crawfish heads. The shrimp shells seems like it would be easier than the crawfish heads. Sorry but I have no idea about these 2.

My pal fed a lot of crawfish shells to our chickens just yesterday. Their crops were like baseballs and I was really concerned, but all is well today.

Maybe he was thinking the calcium in the shells would be good for them? IDK, don't feed any fish or shellfish to mine because I heard it will make the eggs taste off.. again, IDK.

Took pics of the closeups of our chicken tractor wheels but can't get them to load on our slow home computer, sorry, will take the camera to work tomorrow & load them up there.

I have heard of people feeding it to them but I have never personally done it!!

Terri, I'm having a heck of a time finding that paint! No go at Wal-Mart and Home Depot carries it they just don't have it in red!! I'm going to go to Lowes tomorrow!!

I just talked to a guy Saturday who feeds his crawfish shells. He
didn't say anything about it giving the eggs any odd taste but he did
say that when he did the yolks would get really dark orange even with a hint of
red to them.
Anybody else having problems getting onto the Louisiana site?

Here's the bike tire axle mounted in the square tubing:

I just drilled a hole, then pushed the axle in, and screwed the nut on.

I'll drill holes in the rest of the tubing, and attach it so that the wheel is a ways behind the tractor and just touching the ground (gave up on the lever idea).
This way, I can just lift the front and push it like a wheelbarrow.

Yes, I sent Joe a text and he said they have a network outage!!

Okay. I guess I am getting out of here then. I will check back later
tonight and see if I can get on there. I need to be in the house
cooking supper anyways instead of being in my office.
All of yalls tractors are looking good. Gonna end
up making me build one I guess.
See everyone later.
