"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I don't see where they say poultry at all and if in the Other category it's $10 a head..... That's outrageous!!!

I am reading that as $10 per head disposal fee added to the order for each animal. So, if you bring 1 cow and 2 hogs, $30 disposal fee.

That's still outrageous!! But I guess since my husband & son are hunters and we don't pay anybody to process anything for us we do it ourselves, it's hard to understand that people would pay that much money for that!!

I don't know of anywhere close by that processes chickens or roosters.
I did talk to a guy a while back that had just taken some to somebody up
towards Hattiesburg Mississippi and whoever it was charged him somewhere
between .75 and 1.00/bird to dress them out. For me that would be well worth
the ride since I can make it in a little over an hour.
I have even thought about raising up a bunch to eating size and have someone
else process them for me on halves if I can find someone to do it.
After helping out however I could doing garden planting this past week. I
am hurting in places I forgot I had. We got the snap beans planted, watermelons,
zuchinni, and part of the tomatoes and corn. Will finish the tomatoes tomorrow and
will plant the other half of the corn later in the week. Got the okra planted also.
Still have to get the peas and butterbeans done and the pepper plants are
waiting to be put in the ground.
I am now down to only 4 Black Marans hens and the cuckoo rooster left. Had
a lady come from Kenner yesterday and get 3 and had a guy get 1. Hope to make it
to Alabama later in the week to get the other Rhode Island Red hens and rooster.

I ran out of space for my corn.

Too much other stuff. I am not comfortable using the tractor alone, so I will have to figure something out this week.
$1 per bird isn"t bad. You must not live far from me, chickenguru.

Good morning all! what do ya'll think of this cool snap we're having? I guess this is our "Easter snap" even though Easter is still a few weeks away! Everything's coming up nicely in our garden - including the weeds.

time to get the hoe out & get some exercise, lol.

Hope everybody has a good week!

Well, it'll be different for me come the 18th when I get released to go back to work!! Even still I can get on the computer there!! But right now I'm bored out my gourd!! I have plenty of things to do but the problem is most of it I can only handle for a little while before the back starts screaming!!

As far as the incubating goes... This is my last hatch!! After I get rid of all the barnyard mixes I'll just have my 13 SS and whatever hatches in this last hatch!! It's been fun and it was really nice that I was able to home for all the hatches!! It'll take planning for me to make sure they hatch on my off days next time!!

I WISH the lawnmower people would call and say ours is ready!! I can't stand mowing with the in laws mower!!

Have a great day!!

BayouPoules, curious mind here has got to know: where did you find out that my middle name is Ann?
I do go by TerriAnn on another forum I belong to. Do you raise epiphyllums? (orchid cactus?)

I have not been posting too much either. I"m so tired. With Spring time here and girls going broody, egg production up and customers wanting more and more eggs, it is so hard to get everything done.

Not too far. I am between Kentwood and Franklinton.
No garden work today. Going to wait and see if we get the
rain they are saying we are supposed to get first. Did get
the pond partially stocked today though. Got the bream put in today.
Gotta give them a while to grow and then will be putting in Florida strain largemouth
bass.
