Your daughter is so cute! Can she come to my class and teach our middle school kids to say yes ma'am & yes sir?

Middle school kids are insulted when we ask them to say that. I strongly believe in good manners. Good for you for teaching her respect early in life. I make my grandchildren use good manners around me, too. It's terrible have a teacher for a grandmother -- they have to "walk the chalkline".

Yea she is a pretty good mannered child, supprisingly as uch as I spoil her. But I do believe its possible to spoil and teach good manners. I have a spoild wife, daughter and dog and chickens. Im out numbered. Cant wait to teach her so many things, especially cook!

Cooking is great! I have been cooking with my granddaughter since she was little. I'd stand her on a chair and let her stir. She's 9 yrs. old and is beginning to cook simple things by herself. It's very cool! Two of the funniest things she ever did was (1) we were making instant chocolate pudding and she was to stir. When I turned my back she stuck her hand in the pudding and stirred as though she was making a mud pie;

and (2) once, after carving a pumpkin with her, I asked her to wash the seeds and we'd bake them in the oven. I went on about my business. A little while later I came back to check on her and she had filled the bowl with soapy water and was "washing" the seeds like I told her.

I learned a very important lesson -- make sure that the instructions are clearly understood.

Enjoy her because they grow up much too fast.

Kuntrygirl, you take the cutest snapshots! They look like they're posing for you.

That what I want my muscovys for -- I'll be shoving goose eggs under them next spring.
