Hope you get the rain you need Mike! As for us we've gotten more than enough. My run is finally drying up, still have to put on the mud boots to take care of my chores but it's not to bad abymore!! Thank goodness!!

Hope everyone's having a great day! I'm just chillaxing till I gotta go to work and praying that tonight is better than last night. It's amazing that things can go to he77 in a handbasket in the blink of an eye!! The whole night was going smoothly till 12:30 and then it didn't stop till we got off at 5. Had 3 deputies that had to go to the hospital for fighting with inmates. And guess what?? It wasn't even a freaking full moon out!

Isn't it strange how the moon and the different seasons tend to influence behavior. It's the same at school. Full moon the kids are WILD. During spring, there are more fights than any other time of the school year. I compare it to the deer season when the males are fighting for dominance over the herd. After a while you just come to expect these behaviors.

I did pear preserves today. I only did a medium sized pot because I wasn't sure how they would turn out. I think they turned out ok. I will have them in the morning with some biscuits.

As you can see, I used a few ugly recycled jars that I already had. I didn't want to spend any money on new jars. I was able to preserve about 4 jars which is plenty for me. I gave the rest of the uncooked pears to the animals. They loved them. My co-worker will be bringing me another box of pears on Monday. I will do pear preserves again and I will can more pears, unless I come up with another idea.
