hoping all goes well with the house.

Good afternoon y'all!

What beautiful weather we're having today!!! I wish it were like this all year!

I hope everyone did well through the storm.

Guess what??!!! We got our first egg this weekend! I am so excited! And I realized real quick that I am about the only one who is excited...no one else seems to care! But I know my fellow chicken peeps will be happy for me! Here's the link to our beautiful aqua Easter Egger egg!: http://chickenscratchfreerangethoughts.blogspot.com/?zx=af6f36919e2d0b83

Do
y'all remember the excitement of your first few eggs??? The only bad part about it is that it makes me want more chickens!

Everyone have a great, cool, dry week!

All the chickens that I have that lay eggs I got after they where alread laying like they where a year or olderL. I have 4 pr's, 1 BUff O, and 1 golden pheonix that are all 18 weeks old and no eggs yet, but two of the Production Reds there combs, wattles and ear lobes just turned bright red. So hoping for eggs soon.

My Easter Eggers are 5 months old and one of them has now laid 2 eggs. I don't know which one. They won't tell me

Our Rhode Island Reds are about 3 weeks younger but I am increasingly thinking they're both roosters. They are getting really aggressive and also turning darker with some black tail feathers coming in. I'll be looking to re-home them if that's the case...my neighbors are starting to complain about other people's roosters crowing all hours and I know it will add fuel to the fire if I add two more into the mix.

Good luck with the house hunt TBJumper!

BEAUTIFUL egg Freerangethought!! Oh yes, we can all understand your excitement here!!

Glad to be back online, internet dropped out yesterday -- phone line problems but we're back up & running.

Such gorgeous weather! I have all the house open for this cool breeze! Drying out fast, too, just a little standing water & mushy ground now. It can stay like this through, say, December, and I won't complain a bit!
