The 2nd one is so pretty! what cross is she?

She is a cross of that rooster, I guess he is some sort of game mix, and a Buff Orpington hen! The black one is from the same roo and a Barred Rock hen! However, the black one had laid a few tiny, green! eggs, so I am not sure what that rooster is! contributing to them!

Good Morning Peeps!!

Hope you all are enjoying this beautiful weather. I sure hope it continues through the week so I can get some chores done!

Okay here's a laugh for today. At work I'm known as either the "Egg Pimp" or the "Chicken Pimp".

Been moving! I just moved my shop birds to my in-laws' old coop. There's a lot of old poop in there, and my birds aren't vaccinated for anything, so I'm concerned about them catching a bug.
Tomorrow is the last day of moving, then I can focus on getting the new homestead shaped up to resemble something a chicken would live in.

Pete, you beat me on the moving gig.

We're finishing up with the last bits of "touch ups". Carpet will be installed within the next few days. I'll be setting up the kitchen and bath this weekend, and moving my washer and dryer. Next, I'll be moving my geese into our new dog kennel temporarily until I get pens for them.

Seems I've misled you, Twiley. We moved out of our house and into the in-law's about a mile away. Our new place is only a half mile from the old subdivision and we'll be moving our stuff back that way when we finish building. So far we have electric and plumbing stubbed out and insulation in. Sheetrock should go up this week.
I'm supposed to be at work right now but have what I think is Sciatica from the move. It's the worse thing ever! Ima see a chiropractor in the morning, and pray that they can fix me up.

Sorry you're in pain! Moving is tough on your body.

Yeah, I guess I misunderstood that you were actually moving twice. I completely understand as that is very similar to our situation. Best of luck to you!

Morning Everyone!!!! Freezing outside!!!...lol.... WAIT!! Don't smack me dangit.... didn't say it was too cold or I didn't like it!,just said it was freezing...lol.... My dogs have snotcicles this morning....I made some use of the nice weather yesterday.Got a good bit of stuff stcked up behind the stall/coop on pallets for storage outta site.Still have to collect all the feeders and wateres not in use, clean em and put em in tetrailer for storage.Clean up the misc junk, then move the trailer and the slab will be ready for removal.

Had a lil surprise for me in the Showgirl pen the other morning.2 lil SG peeps looking over the nestbox at me peeping.A lil white and a reddish one.Haha,Didn't even realize she had been setting. I had taken an old nestbox outta there with funky eggs. Which my male Dane decided to try to steal one out of my garbage wheelbarrowthingy and it exploded in his mouth!!!

Well, going make my cup of Green Tea Dr Julie prescribed and chillax a minute before I head outside.

Morning! OK Whisky, we'll let you ride on the
smack.gif
-- it WAS on the chilly side this morning, gee we actually pulled the bedspread up to keep warm!

That is SO gross about your Dane -- so, did he learn a lesson about leaving bad eggs alone?

The insurance guy is here & just came off the roof -- we did have some shingles busted from the hailstorm - so we'll see what he says.

I got the four roos moved out of the main pen & into the "batchelor pad" last night - if anybody is interested let me know as I am giving them away - one Blue Wheaton, one Wheaton, parents were hatched from PasoFinoFarm's stock, and 2 Welsummers - hatched from Grisham, Whitmore & 1 other bloodline I forget. They were hatched June 7th so are 3 months old. I'm going to run them on Craigslist for $5 each if nobody here wants them. I'm not raising any more chickens. I'll be hatching some peas next year but for my laying flock, I'll just keep the 19 hens I have, & as they die off from old age will replace them then.

Insurance guy just left & looks like we will be getting a new roof. We need one so I guess this was timely.

I bought some green tea too! Dr. Julie is having a good influence on us! Now if she get 50 pounds off of me, she'll be a REAL miracle-worker!
