You could make a raised bed with a liner, fill it with crushed granite, and make an aquaponics system with the koi.

Fantastic ideas!!!! I guess I could say my herb bed is a raised bed but it's just a little 4 x 8 patch of ground, so no big deal. I would LOVE a koi pond!!!

Welcome Chris! Who is your wife? I have a hell of a time finding vets who can come out when I need one for the horse. I actually live on the Westbank right now, but work at the Covington Post Office. My boyfriend and I are looking to get a place on the Northshore in the next few months!

I also started out wanting a handful of chickens and now have close to 100! Yikes! It is a fun and addicting hobby! Since we are close, I'd love to meet you and your family and talk chickens/horses, would be nice to find a reliable vet too!

we no longer have horses but you are certainly in 'horse country' so best of luck to you!!!

Terri, how's hubby doing? How's the job search going?

Gracie, glad to hear that your training is almost over. I can't stand to be away from my animals. The two geese I got from you are doing fine. They have really blossomed over the last few weeks. I am very pleased with them. One of them will be going to live with Mike along with two of my curly ganders.

BTW, where in the heck is Mike? I have geese eating me out of house and home!!!!
