Terrible tragedy. It should have never gotten to that point though, no individual has any business owning animals like that!
I completely agree. We have a couple of people out this way like that.Well, did before Katrina.I honestly don't know if they still have any animals now.One was off to the West of me a mile or so.She had monkeys and gorillas. They got loose once about 10 or 20 years ago,but were all easily rounded up.The other is about 2 miles to the North? of me. Hunter White.Yes you got it.Old big game hunter.Bought a huge tract of land in the buffer zone and has/had zebras, diff types of deer/gazelle/fox that I've seen. And I've heard he had Big cats, camels(actually camels are common around here?), wolves, monkeys, always bringing new pets in for his wife.I shot a white fox of his one year.It got loose and was after one of my gamecocks I had on a tiecord. It was kinda funny at first.Watching this young fox grab this bird and try to run and the bird just POP out his mouth. He'd turn around and just look?!!! Then try it again! He did it a few times until I finally put the rifle out the bathroom window and popped him.Next day I heard someone talking about some of his foxes getting loose a couple days before and being spotted close by and to let them know if anyone spotted them.... BTW,the Gamecock was fine...Just a lil shaken and like what???
