Whoop whoop! A New Year's Gift - first egg from the one of the two barred rocks. I sure hope she gets the other on the ball. Two chickens laying and three to go. But boy, does this hen think she is all that. She moved the leghorn's egg out of the nesting box so she could have it all to herself.
Anybody else have chickens who displace their friends' eggs.

Up early here to enjoy my last day of "freedom" -- looks like another cold snap on the way tomorrow so will get all the waterers cleaned out good & filled so I can disconnect the hoses & wrap faucets this evening.

I candled & pitched the Wellie eggs -- I know I've read reports of people hatching old eggs & eggs that have been refrigerated & so on but all of mine were clear -- they were all young pullet eggs so maybe that had something to do with it, plus it had been 3 weeks since I offed the evil roo. I didn't need to propagate his bad genes anyway! Now if I can just stay away from the auctions, lol!!!!

Where has everyone been today?

I spent the day cleaning up and getting ready for the cold temps on the way down to us. I also sold 7 more birds today!!!!

It's a good thing I have birds hatching as I type. Man I don't know..... Mondays have been good for selling chickens for me!!!!!
