I also am very confused by this. Was the comment made by or directed to Sharksandguitars? I thought the reason to have a thread with local people was to get to know everyone, make a few new friends and have some dependable, familiar people you can chat and deal with (rather than an unknown entity half way around the country). If there really is a problem, I guess I should have been reprimanded for asking if anyone had chicks a while back.

We have some people from the thread who have been missing in action. Some as long as a few months. I hope everyone is ok.

I think we all are. I know that plenty on here have had stuff for sale and posted it so I'm not sure what's going on!!

Been a few weeks. I hope he is ok. I may have to send him a harassing text message to his phone to get his attention. :smack

Hi all! Been lurking for the last week or so....and finally joined BYC after discovering what a great site it is. Hope to be moved into the Hammond area in the next couple weeks. Lots of work to be done around the house then I can start on the coop. Looking forward to learning a lot from y'all!! ~ Brad

Welcome, Brad! Hammond is a nice area; I have family that lives there now. I only recently built my coop and run (well, at least my awesome hubby did

) and now have chickens for the first time since I was a girl. It's so nice to have them around again!

The Blue Slate eggs made it today and the lady sent me a dozen Narragansett eggs instead od 6!!

That's exciting! All of you with turkeys, peafowl, etc. are making me want to add on! I just don't know if I have the room or if my husband would divorce me, lol! Do any of ya'll have Royal Palm or Midget White turkeys? Aren't they smaller? Also, I vividly remember my grandmother having turkeys that were MEAN! Are there certain ones that are more friendly? ----Brandy

You should get all that you can get.

I have been speaking with a guy about the Midget White turkeys and I am VERY interested but I think I have too many animals.

I"m not sure about any particular breed that is mean but I'm sure all of them have the possibility of being mean. I haven't experienced that.

I know these pictures are terrible, but I'm posting them anyway!

These are my new babies - 8 BLRW and 10 Euskal Oiloa (Marraduna Basque). The little stinkers would not stay still!! The BLRW run around like little bumper cars (so cute) & the EOs are calmer and very nosy. Does anyone know if you can tell if the BLRWs will be blue, black or splash? I am assuming that the lightest one will be a splash, but you know what they say about that, lol!
