I'm on the Westbank of New Orleans. I had 14 chickens before Katrina.. Now, 6 months after buying my house in Old Gretna, I'm ready for my chickens. I drive to Dallas a few times a year, so anyone in the middle of the state is good too!

Is there anyone near me to talk chicken talk or help me get myself up and running? It's been a while and I'm a little rusty. Also, is there anyone local selling chicks anytime soon?

OH, and Kuntrygirl - Congrats on the new baby!

Did I tell you guys that my mommy bought me a Hova Bator Genesis 1588 for my birthday!!! I hope it gets here in time for the eggs I ordered. My little brinsea eco is still acting funny, and I hate the borrow hova bator I used for my last batch.

Look what I found this morning around 5am while I was feeding everyone....


He is a little colt and was born 17 days early. Other than being a little small, he looks to be doing great. He was feeding had pooped and laid down to rest all before I left for work this morning. Mom is also doing great. We were hoping for another paint but healthy is good to!!!

I was going to attend a poultry swap in Denham Springs on April 21st, so we can meet then if that works for you. I'll be bringing some adult Toulouse, turkey poults, and sebbie goslings to sell if anybody else wants to attend. I will post more info later!
