The Opelousas meet is May 6th, right? I think I'll have to come to that one! Where is it going to be held?

I am new to southwest louisiana, just moved to Elton, from north Texas. How can I find shows/meets/happenings??? I am very interested in becomming involved with other poultry enthusiasts.
We currently raise Cochins, (standard and bantam) wyandottes, and rhode island reds. Have about 50 birds in total.

Any information would be great!!!

Well, hubs and I got the new chicken penthouse done last night. Still needs beautification and another roost put in, but over all, it is quite nice. Hubs and the dog slept in a sleeping bag outside by it last night (Drunk of course) so they could watch over it and mark their territory multiple times. Evidently they scared a few coons away with an air soft pistol as well. So they are making good roo's now!! LOL I love them so much!! That's my boys!!

Maddi! There is one coming up in Opelousas at the Tractor Supply on May 6th. I'm thinking it's about a little over an hours drive from where you are. I will be bringing some Toulouse geese, mixed pullets, and who knows what else!

Terri, guess what I found yesterday ??????????????????????????????

A pea egg !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And she layed the egg in the sand in the aviary by their feeder and NOT in the nesting box that I put in there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
