:D Thanks! I was working pretty long hours for a while, then the job ended, and I found myself with all the time in the world to visit my peeps. Missed you guys @ the expo.

Howdy!!! it's so good to see you back on! Yes, we have been a busy little bunch. Tiz the season you know! Hatch on!!!! Your chicks are major cute!!!

Good morning everyone. I have a question about feed. I was considering mixing my own layer mash, but am unsure where to get all of the base ingredients. Anyone know where I can buy that type of thing in my area? I'm in Covington.
Chris will be on sooner or later -- he lives in Covington also & can help you out I bet!

Wa ha ha ha ha! So funny. I believe we actually paid $7.99, but to me that is $8. My grandma will say something is "only" $100, when in reality it's $199! She never adds the "99", whether it be cents or dollars. I get a giggle reading your posts, Catdaddyfro. Your property sounds amazing, TerriLaChicks. We have 5 acres and feel so blessed, I can't imagine 100 with all those trees!
I WISH we had 100 acres -- its' been in our family over 100 years - that's where you go that from, I, personally, only have 10 acres. But it's sitting in the middle of a bunch of property owned by other family members, plus our "neighbor" is a 3,000 acre plantation (Inglewood Farms) on the historical register, so I don't have to worry about anybody coming in & building a subdivision or anything close by us any time soon, lol.

Now if they want to come in & strike oil, well... we could mow around an oil well quite nicely!

Gracie, We need to get together pretty soon so that we can put our heads together to determine color and/or saddleback vs splash. Those two little goslings with light gray color are becoming more interesting. I can't stand waiting for the color to come in. It's driving me crazy!!

The feathers that I SEE coming in are white and what appears to be SILVER/LAVENDER

I'm thinking that I may have identified my gander carrying the lavender gene. I sure hope so!!

I'm thinking that I may have identified my gander carrying the lavender gene. I sure hope so!! I will dna test them as soon as they have tail feathers that are 3 - 4 inches. If these two continue to show silver color, and are female then I'll know for sure that this gander is a lavender carrier.
