"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Got my chicks from Chris H. and Brandi this past weekend! :D got 4 each BLRW, lavender Orps and New Hampshire. All are doing great....and growing quick already. Having a blast watching them and figuring out their personalities. I can tell the BLRW will be great foragers cuz they keep the pine shavings flying! Will try and post some pics this weekend.

Re: Generators-
I talked to some of the building contractors I worked with a few years ago before getting a generator (after losing everything in the freezer & fridge for the 3rd time) & they said, "if you were going to use it every day like I do, get something w/a Honda or Tecumseh engine, but if it's only for emergency use once in a while, get the minimum & least expensive one you can find".

I ended up ordering a Duropower direct from the factory in California - (www.durapower.com) it was cheaper than anything around here at the time & had good reviews. I also ordered one for my parents. 3500 watts, nothing fancy, free shipping. We would've gotten a 5000 watt but it was just not in our budget.

It has been a great little generator, kept us going through several hurricanes & power outages. We also use it for our work projects - ran the air guns off of it when we put up the peacock run, stuff like that. Plus we can run a small window air conditioner off of it during the night when the power's out. It has been well worth the $$$ considering how much food I put up in the freezer each year. It covers all the basics during power outages.

Love all the baby pics! Terri, thank you for those ideas. I am going to read up some more tonight on our options.

Will there be a swap soon? Is it July 3? Was it June 3? I am looking for 2-6 week old Welsummers...or older. :D
