Hello! I have had this love bird for about 2 years now and she is a biter. Anything and anyone is fair game, ears, lips any kind of skin. Now with that said it should also be stated that I did not raised this bird. Or so I think, I was given this bird as a rescue and I have no idea how old she really is or where she came from. I am a bird lover obvisouly so I naturally took her in. I was wondering if it would be possible to have her stop biting every time we try to do anything with her. It wouldn't be so much of a problem if she didn't seek us out when she's out of the cage and then proceeds to bite us and everything she can.

hey i used to have parakeets thatd do the same thing the first thing you want to figure out is is it fear bites, aggressive bites or curious " i wonder what this is " bites

My budgie sometimes experiences moods where he will make a distinct noise and then bite. Generally this behavior is followed by me trying to pick him up or get him out of his cage. After wing clipping he can be extra moody. I have learned what provokes him to bite so I try to avoid those things at all cost.

He has started to do a "friendly" bite now. When he perches on my finger he will often times drag his beak across my skin, opening and closing his mouth the entire time. It reminds me of preening.

It just goes to show you that biting can mean so many different things.

I'm fairly new to the world of house birds, but I wish you the best of luck with finding out why your love bird is seeking you out to virtually attack you. Perhaps it's a lonely thing? Aren't lovebirds better off in pairs?

I hope the underlining issue is found so you can restore your relationship with your beloved bird. :)
