LOVE BIRDS??? ......... WHAT A PAIR!!!!

Ok so I've not been raising chickens that long and this is most likely a silly question but can chickens really get that attached to one another? I have two here that seem so in love and the EE peeps loudly NON-STOP whenever I take the cochin out of the brooder. She will even try to fly out of the brooder hitting her head on the hardware cloth to get back to the cochin. She seems to get so distressed. The EE just seems to go crazy if the cochin is not right there!

Sounds like a pretty strong attachment. Just read somewhere in the last couple of days that chickens have strong facial recognition abilities....(probably read on this forum someplace).... so those chicks are BFFs.

I think they recognize each other by sound at least as much by appearance.
