Love my chickens

Hi! Looking forward to meeting other chicken lovers. I've been raising chickens for about 15yrs & love it. Everything started when my daughter was in high school & participated in the "Ag in the classroom" day through FFA. At the end of the day she asked me if she could bring home the chicks that they had been raising. After her Ag teacher assured me that they were all girls I said yes. Guess what? Her teacher was wrong & we did get a rooster! We promptly named him Jerry after her teacher. That was just our first surprise in this journey of loving chickens.
I'm sure I will read & learn more here. Can't wait !

I live in California in the Central Coast area... Templeton to be exact. We have a little over 2 acres & besides chickens, we have 3 goats, 3 dogs, one cat, one bull, one cow & one heifer. Feeding time twice a day takes time! hahaha But I enjoy it all.
