Welcome to BYC, Missy! You might want to invest in some hardware cloth. The chicken wire won't keep your flock safe.

Thank you for the input. My chicken enclosure is also inside our fenced yard. It is fenced with what mom and dad always called hog wire. Will hardware cloth jeep out snakes? What else can get in through the chicken wire?

Hardware cloth does keep out snakes, rats, and small voles and skunks as well! It will also keep raccoons from sticking their paws through and grabbing curious birds.
