Yes, they are noisy and do raid small birds' nest but they cab also be useful.

This morning, while drinking my coffee and before I released my birds, our local flock of crows were in our lower hedgerow making a heck of a racket. Checked with the binoculars and could see they were mobbing a red-tail hawk. After a while they drove it off. I probably wouldn't have notice otherwise. Now it's safe to open the pop door.

Yep. I posted this last year sometime. I get a couple crows near me. Haha.

This is what I get to see each dawn and dusk. Very effective hawk/falcon/owl/bald eagle deterrent. Never had them bother my quail.

"At dusk the sky darkens over the University of Washington Bothell as up to 15,000 pitch-black crows descend on the campus. Swooping and cawing, they come from all directions to roost for the night."

in general, members of the corvidae family are a good alliance to chicken keepers. where i live, there is a family of scrub jays, which are related to crows, that live in our backyard. last year, i managed to befriend the parents by feeding them each day. now, they will often come by the chicken coop and interact with the chickens behind the fence. they also serve as defense, as they give off alarm calls when predators are near.

I have a friend in Cali who has tamed a pair with peanuts. So cool!
