Love the girls but need to learn...

Hello I’m nanamidge. Our house is on our 2 round of chickens ( this round gets to actual lay eggs). First round my hubby thought it would be nice to let them run free in the chicken wire fence 2years ago with a net over it while we camp 20 minutes down the road. My grandson 3 1/2 at the time picked out each chick. When the fox ate them he was devastated ( not knowing the whole story) he said nana we getting new ones I said yes next year. His next statement had me laughing on the inside. It was: is papa going to protect them better this time? Hubby had all winter to make a fence for the up coming new flock ( retired early in years). He didn’t a week til we go camping again I went and purchased a 12 by 12 dog kennel he wasn’t too happy with me but I said I wasn’t about to let the new flock end up like the last. I’m glad to say no wild animals have gotten them.And as long as we are outside the roam the yard.
