Love this chicken thing

We are totally new at raising chicks/chickens. We picked up two Ameracaunas, not sure if they are roo's or hens, we are hoping for hens. I do have pics but haven't figured out how to get them over to the question forum area. I will have to have my 10 yr.old son help me with this computer stuff, lol. I would love to hear what everyone guesses they are.
We are getting 4 Orpingtons in about a month. The mother is sitting on 16 eggs right now, 1 hatched yesterday and is black,we are very exited about getting those too!!!!!
