Hi! My female lovebird is extremely aggressive when it comes to hands. For example, when she sees my finger on something she RUNS to bite it, and its very frustrating to work with her when she bites.

I try to let her out of her cage as much as possible, but it usually doesn't last long because of the biting. She's a year old. And not socialized when I bought her (from a pet store) so I'm worried there's little I can do now. I will appreciate any reply.

Here are some of my thoughts and Ideas/suggestions.
My DD#2 has a Pet Lovebird she lured into her home from free-flying outside. Posted a message on local Facebook, and no owner was found, so kept her. It is a she,,,, since did lay a few eggs in the time she has had her. DD does spend quite a bit of time interacting with her pet birds. I think that action tames the birds. :idunno
If your bird is a biter,,,, I can see how that takes the fun out of having pet. Get a glove, and have your bird perched on your finger/hand. With other hand offer treats like the choice seeds your bird likes.
This may train birdie to be NICE:frow

I would suggest hands-off training, specifically target/touch training to start.

Training is a language you both understand and is a good start to working with your parrot.

Here's a video that should help explain it. You are essentially getting your bird to touch the end of a stick.

I have used this for my rescue galahs who can be hard to handle at times.

Hope this helps as a start.
