Who figured at 49 I would be raising chickens. Lol one kid is off to college an I have found a new hobby. And I say hobby lightly because I find myself becoming attached to these bright eyed, carefree creatures. Except now I find myself searching out all the information needed to raise them. Any information on starting outwouldbehelpful.

Welcome to BYC and the wonderful world of chickens!

Chickens are a great hobby, make great pets, and are beautiful. I love my chickens, from the mean roosters to the naughty hens, cute chicks, respected boss and nervous bantams. They all crowd around for treats and come running when they see me coming.

Best of luck with your flock!
