Low calcium?

Hello all! My four year old duck hens have been laying regularly (once a day each) for the past two months after a 6 month break. It's been fairly normal until I noticed this today...

This soft-shell egg with a tail (as I call it):

And then I saw one of the females 'poop' this out:

Basically just some 'gel' that I believe is the albumin.

I tried to give them some oyster shell and they didn't seem to have much interest.

Just keep the oyster shell out for them they’ll use it as needed. You might want to pick up some Calcium citrate or calcium gluconate and give them some over something they will gobble up pretty good peas smashed with the cal mixed in may work. 250mgs a day for a while and see if that helps. Sometimes it’s just a malfunction that works it self out but I’d def keep the oyster shell out all the time for them.

They snuck up while my back was turned and gobbled down some of the oyster shells. I added a dish to their house to eat some overnight and I'll leave out some outside as well during the day. I'll look into those calcium tablets. I have some mixed calcium,magnesium and vit d3 but that's for me and I don't think they'd want all the other vitamins...

Strangely, my ducks don't like to eat while being watched.

They need water also to swallow so in the house is not needed. They can suffer choke..Tums also is a great source of Calcium..
